Pearl Jam - Rearviewmirror
Nine Inch Nails - Closer
Smashing Pumpkins - Zero
Rage Against the Machine - Killing in the Name
Bush - Machine Head
Epic. EPIC ride so far. 90’s adolescence in a nutshell. And then…
The Offspring - [No idea because I never listened to this terrible, horrible, no good, very bad band.]
Say it with me, folks:
“The Offspring is a terrible band.”
“The Offspring is a terrible band.”
“The Offspring is a terrible band…”
Pearl Jam - So You Want To Be A Rock ‘n’ Roll Star (The Byrds cover, live at the Pepsi Center - Denver, CO, July, 6, 2002)
Perfect pop song.
Perfect arrangement.
If I was ever on Rock Star: Supernova [Read: D.R.E.A.M.*], this would be my encore.
For @marksbirch
* - I’m not the only one harboring the fronting-an-80’s-hair-band-that’s-getting-back-together-for-a-reunion-tour-but-having-creative-differences-with-their-lead-singer fantasy, right? Just for, like, six months. I think the road would get to me after a while…
I’ve got an entire repertoire of 80’s hair band lead singer stage moves:
Pearl Jam - Jersey Girl
May 18, 2010, Prudential Center, Newark, NJ
Pearl Jam - Rearviewmirror
March 17, 1995 - Flinders Park Tennis Centre, Melbourne, Australia
My favorite version of my favorite PJ song from perhaps the best PJ show ever.
Perfect.
Driving.
There is not a single extraneous note.
Pearl Jam tonight!!!
I’m going to see Pearl Jam next week and I’m not at all ashamed to admit it!
What’s to be ashamed of? Pearl Jam is the best American rock band of the last twenty years, if not ever. Those who would suggest otherwise are plain wrong. Seriously, who has had a more consistent run of just absolutely rocking it?
And they always treat the Tri-State area really well, the crowd them.
The show at MSG on June 24, 2008 is easily the best concert I have ever been to.
As soon as it was over, I turned to my friend and said “There is no way they can top that.” The next night was fine, though not nearly as…bombastic.
But I was glad to see them try. As I’ve been every show since.
Looking forward to next week.
Pearl Jam - Comatose
Never forget.
It was always such a treat to open up a padded envelope of Dead or DMB or PJ bootlegs and find that the kind soul on the other end of the B&P trade had used XL II S tapes vs. just plain old XL II. (There is a stunning, noticeable difference between the two. The S was like an aural massage).
As good a feeling as when another driver stops to let you pull into traffic.
It’s the little things…
#XLIIS4LIFE.
Pearl Jam gets into the spirit.
