Kylie Minogue’s Surprise Gay Marriage Proposal

Star Online reports:

In front of a full house at the Burswood Dome in Perth last night, Kylie Minogue’s Aphrodite Les Folies show came to a sudden spontaneous halt when the enduring pop icon invited a gay couple on stage for a marriage proposal. Scott took his boyfriend Ben to the Burswood Dome show to celebrate their ninth anniversary. They had scored Splash Zone tickets that put them right in the middle of the action in the centre of the show’s massive stage and they dressed up in amazing costumes. During the show Kylie stopped and took a request from the audience, and a stripped back version of the Locomotion was performed as a sing-a-long with the audience. As Kylie bantered with the audience members Scott managed to get Kylie’s attention and after a short discussion was invited on stage where he got down on bended knee and asked his partner Ben for his hand in marriage. Speaking on stage with Kylie, Scott highlighted that the pair were both country boys – Scott from Kalgoorlie and Ben from Broome – and that their parents were also in the house enjoying the critically-acclaimed show. Following the unexpected marriage proposal, Kylie encouraged the audience to “wish the couple all the best” and described the moment as, “an honour and a privilege,” before joking with the audience, “Can I just sit and weep, just for a minute? You don’t really expect me to just crash back into the show!”

Your favorite pop icon du jour wore a meat dress to an awards show? How enlightened.

Kylie Minogue - Please Stay (Live in London - The ‘Showgirl: Greatest Hits Live’ Tour)

My iPhone’s been weirding me out today.

Just back from a bike ride.

At some point over the course of the ride — and I hit ‘Shuffle’ on the iPod — the following songs played:

Blondie - Rapture

Well, duh.

Dave Matthews Band - Tripping Billies

Eat, drink and be merry…for tomorrow we die…

And, above, Kylie Minogue - Please Stay

And I don’t want to say goodbye

But who knows where we’ll be after tonight…

Apparently, iTunes checks with the gossip pages when making playlists.

Good one, Apple.
